The 60 Second Elevator
Speech
An elevator speech is a clear, brief message or “commercial” about you. It communicates who you are, what you’re looking for and how you can benefit a company or organization. It is typically about 60 seconds.
Judging Criteria
1. Who am I? SMILE, Tell who you are to hook your listener. Ex: Nice to meet you, my name is Dan Perry and currently I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire majoring in Business Management
2. What makes you different from the competition? Ex: Over the past couple years, I’ve strengthened my skills through my involvement in the AMA and through my summer internship with Cintas Corporation
3. What benefits can employers derive from skills, based upon your proven accomplishments? Ex: Eventually I would like to utilize my skill set and competitive drive as an outside sales representative and exceed company expectations. Can you tell me how someone with my experience may fit into your organization? Elevator Speech will be evaluated based upon enthusiasm, being concise and 60-90 seconds long.

Marketing Strategy Competition

This competition will challenge your marketing abilities, speed and presentation skills. Use your knowledge and past experiences to come up with quick marketing solutions, present them to the the case sponsors and impress business professionals!
Rules:

The competition will be held during the day of the conference.

Teams will sign up the morning of the conference.

Each team can have a maximum of 4 participants.

Each team will need access to a laptop.

In the first round, each team will be designated a 20 minute time slot in which they will receive a prompt and have the allotted time to come up with ideas and a powerpoint displaying their solutions.

Each team will have 7 minutes to present.

There will be 3 minutes for Q&A and feedback form the judges.

Three teams will be selected by the judges to compete in round 2.

The top three teams will receive a new but related prompt. They will have 25 minutes to create ideas and/or elaborate on their previous ideas and add to their powerpoint.

The top teams will then have 10 minutes. to present on the second prompt as well as the first, if they want to add anything or combine ideas.

There will be 3 minutes for Q&A and feedback.

The judges will decide the winning team and present a certificate at the awards ceremony.
