AMA welcomes new and returning with pizza, bowling, corn mazes, and more…

October 12th 2015

UW-Eau Claire’s American Marketing Association begins the new semester with guest speakers, socials, fundraisers, and more.

AMA welcomes new and returning members to this year’s schedule of events including the new member dinner, corn maze, semi-formal, Regional Conference, and our annual “Keep on Chuckin’” AMA 5k.

President Sam Nechkash is excited for this upcoming year, saying: “after such successful previous years, I am beyond excited to see what our young, enthusiastic chapter can accomplish.”

On September 24th, AMA volunteered at the Fall Career Conference that was held on campus. This was a great opportunity for students to connect with employers from companies like 3M, Northwestern Mutual, and Hormel. We were also fortunate to have UWEC alumni Mark Wickstrom from Quad Graphics come and talk at our AMA meetings on the 24th. Mr. Wickstrom had the opportunity to talk about Quad Graphic’s Corporate Training Program for recent graduates along with telling his experiences when he was in AMA.

Buddy Bowling and the AMA Corn Maze social were other chances to build relationships within AMA. Our members had an awesome time hanging out, making friends, and getting to know each other outside of the classroom.

Last week was Entrepreneur/Marketing Week, where local business leaders shared their experiences. Plenty of people came to hear successful startup stories and more! This week we will be attending the UW-Whitewater conference where many of our members will be competing in marketing and sales competitions!

AMA hosts professional speakers and workshops every other Thursday at 6 p.m. in Centennial 2614. For more information or general questions, email President Sam Nechkash at NECHKASH@uwec.edu or visit www.uwecama.com. American Marketing Association is a student-run professional business organization that offers students the opportunity to learn necessary skills and leadership to prepare for a future in the business world. We are proud to be part of the International American Marketing Association.
