AMA attends Aurora Conference

October 30th

The American Marketing Association participated in the Aurora Regional Conference. Congratulations to Pauline Ferre for advancing to the finals of the Cintas Sales Competition! Another big congratulations to Mandy LaLuzerne and Megan Koenig for participating in the Marketing Strategies Competition. Also, Jake Pederson, Michaela Perz, and Dylan Thomas competed in the Stukent Marketing Simulation Competition! Executive board members Goliath Oboyo and Jeff Skaer participated in a Self-Branding Competition. Last but not least, Lee Peterson competed in sales and won $200 in a lip-syncing contest!

All participants had the opportunity to listen to Aurora’s keynote speaker, Andy Crestodina, an Orbit Media. He spoke about how to use social media to network and connect with others along with how to market yourself. AMA also had the opportunity to tour the Impact office on N Michigan Ave in downtown Chicago. They listened to Dan Myer, President and co-founder of the company, as well as lean about the opportunities Impact has.

Looking towards the future, AMA is excited for its annual highway cleanup on November 15th. They will also continue to volunteer at the Humane Society.

If you are interested in joining AMA, it is never too late! AMA hosts professional speakers and workshops every Thursday at 6 p.m. in Centennial 2614. For more information or general questions, email President Sam Nechkash at NECHKASH@uwec.edu or visit www.uwecama.com.
